This is only a list of proven acupuncture benefits. Studies on Chinese herbal medicine are scarce in comparison because of the impracticality of applying the biomedical research model. Also, acupuncture and Chinese Herbs are commonly used conjunctively. This is especially true in the western model where patients often can only come in for treatment 1-2 times per week, as opposed to the everyday treatment protocols prescribed in China. Utilizing herbs between acupuncture sessions, helps the body to continue internally healing at a deep level, and prevents the recurrence of disease more readily. One only needs to look at the classical literature to see the variety of conditions that have been treated over, literally, thousands of years with Chinese Herbs.
