Lauren’s story

Lauren grew up outside of Washington DC, and studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Maryland.  Interested in ethnomusicology and music preservation, she worked for the Smithsonian Institution before moving to Portland, OR, to continue her work in the music business. Inspired by Portland’s progressive health care environment and her own experiences with Chinese medicine, a desire to help people with acupuncture brought Lauren back to the east coast and into graduate school. She has successfully used acupuncture and natural remedies to support her own health beginning in her teens for allergies and asthma, and has since been dedicated to the medicine.

In her practice, Lauren enjoys treating as a general practitioner, helping people in all walks of life using an integrative and patient-centered approach. Acupuncture is an empowering medicine, and ultimately Lauren's goal is to help her patients take back control of their health and feel strong in their body.

In her post-graduate work, Lauren is advancing her training in fertility and pediatric acupuncture through continuing education intensives. Lauren has studied with Jeffrey Yuen, 88th generation Daoist priest, and continues to attend his seminars to expand her knowledge of Classical Chinese Medicine.

I really hate to leave such a wonderful review of Balance acupuncture with Lauren because then that means the secret will be out as to how she takes such good care of me. I see her/trust her more than my general practitioner. Whatever I have going on she genuinely considers it and we do a needle for that section. My saying is “I bet acupuncture would help tha”t and Lauren is the person that I refer people to.
