Your First Appointment
At your first visit, we’ll take some time to understand what’s been going on with your health, what you’ve tried so far, and what you’d like help with. We’ll review your health history, answer your questions, and talk through the next steps for your care.
Your initial appointment is 75–90 minutes and includes an acupuncture treatment ($160). Cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion may be included when appropriate. We may also recommend an herbal formula or simple dietary and lifestyle changes to support your care.
Try not to arrive overly full or hungry, and wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your elbows and knees.
Follow-up visits are about an hour ($100). We’ll check in on how you’re doing, make any needed adjustments, and continue with your care. We’re happy to connect you with other providers when needed.
Ask questions! Chinese medicine may be a different way of looking at health than what you’re used to, and we want you to understand what we’re doing and why. There’s no such thing as a silly question, so please ask anything that comes to mind.
About Balance Acupuncture
Let’s be honest, we could all use a little more balance in our lives! And our bodies are no different.
It’s not about being perfectly balanced all the time. Life changes, stress happens, our health shifts, and sometimes our bodies need a little extra support finding their way back to a better place. That idea is at the heart of our practice.
We use acupuncture and Chinese medicine to care for the whole picture, from pain and fertility to stress, chronic conditions, and everything in between. Our approach is rooted in the depth of Chinese medicine while recognizing the many ways modern healthcare can be part of your care.
And a personal story: When Lauren was 19, acupuncture helped her with allergies and asthma and completely changed how she thought about health and healing. That experience eventually led her to become an acupuncturist and, years later, create Balance.
Because sometimes feeling better starts with finding a little more balance.
